Balinese Healing Retreats

Private, one-on-one healing in Ubud, Bali

A quiet, fully supported retreat for those ready to let go of emotional weight and tend to what’s been carried.

Held in Ubud, this one-on-one retreat offers space to slow down, breathe, and focus entirely on your healing. Traditional Balinese healing is approached with care and respect, alongside rest, movement, and integration.

Everything is managed for you — logistics, transport, scheduling, and cultural coordination — so you don’t have to translate, organise, or navigate alone. You arrive, settle in, and are guided gently through each part of the process.

If you’re currently working with a therapist, we’re happy to collaborate to support continuity of care.

The Work

This retreat includes:

  • Melukat water purification, held at a local temple used by our Balinese hosts

  • Private healing with a Mangku, a traditional Balinese priest and healer

  • Tri Desna healing, a somatic and ceremonial experience focused on release and integration

  • Daily movement, journaling, and quiet reflection

  • Massage and bodywork to support nervous system regulation

The pace is unhurried. Time is built in for rest, integration, and simply being.

A Fully Managed Experience

This is a full-service retreat. All meals, transport, laundry, bookings, and daily logistics are handled for you.

You’re also welcomed into relationship with the Balinese family who support Healing Holidays, offering a respectful and grounded introduction to village life and ceremony — not as an observer, but as a guest.

Optional Add-Ons

Available by choice and arranged thoughtfully:

  • Sessions with Australian-based practitioners (psychology, EMDR, neuro-coaching)

  • Sound healing or Reiki

  • Colonic hydrotherapy

  • Digital detox

  • Restorative yoga

  • Thermal wellness (sauna / cold plunge)

We encourage a balanced approach — space matters as much as activity.

Prepare for your Journey

To prepare for your retreat, ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates and prepare some cash for your Visa on Arrival (VOA). Travel insurance is highly recommended to cover cancellations, medical emergencies, and lost items. While no vaccinations are required, consult your doctor for any recommended immunisations and if you take regular medications, make sure they are legal to bring into Indonesia.

As part of our commitment to your well-being, all participants must be under the care of a mental health professional. Before confirming your retreat, we will coordinate with your therapist to ensure this experience supports your healing journey. A session with your therapist will also be scheduled during your stay for continuity and support. If you are not currently in care but wish to join the retreat, please contact us to arrange a 1:1 session with one of our certified practitioners.

Pack light, breathable clothing, comfortable sandals, thongs or walking shoes, swimwear, and a shawl or sarong for the pool or temple visits. Essentials include reef-safe sunscreen, bug repellent, a refillable water bottle, a small day bag, and a journal for reflections. While Wi-Fi is available, you may want an eSIM or local SIM card for reliable data, $40 AUD will cover more than enough. Many places accept credit/ debit cards, but everywhere accepts cash!

Having Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) in cash is very useful, especially when shopping the markets. We recommend bringing mostly Australian cash (AUD) and exchanging for the best rate once in Bali, and we are happy to help with any and all of these processes. Indonesia uses Type C & F plugs (220V), so bring an adapter if needed. With everything taken care of during your stay, all you need to do is arrive, relax, and enjoy your time away.
