Your Hostess Yasmin Lang
The rainforest and natural beauty of the Northern Rivers was an invitation to move north in the early 70s. An ideal environment to create an organic garden, healthy diet and explore a passion for cooking. Within this a lifestyle more suitable to raise her family, with a sense of community, extended family, friendship and learning exchange along with the abundant native animals, the bird life and the sea creatures.
A journey to Dharamsala, India in 1979 became an opportunity to be involved in creating a synthesis of ancient and new extensive organic agriculture within a rich multicultural village community over a period of 7 years.
Returning to the Byron Bay Hinterland in 1988 was a natural expansion to open and run a Homestay for 3 years. Then moving on with a teenage family to a beach lifestyle and the beauty of Byron Bay, ideal weather and water conditions along with community and cultural diversity.
Homestay then extended in 1994 to become Respite for Youth at Risk, creating educational programs with interesting opportunities for young people to focus within the support of extended family circles and in conjunction with Youth and Community Services.
Healing Holidays evolved again in 1998 with requests for care and support during cancer and other transitional health crises, and in 2001 palliative care and occasional respite for convalescence and aged care was added.
Qualifications include Certificate IV in Nursing and Aged Care, Grief Counselling, and Esoteric Healing; Yasmin is an eternal student of the Ancient Wisdom which is found intuitively at the heart centre, and the quality of service is a reflection of that livingness.
